For sale is this large, exquisite, fully restored antique cast iron fireplace. Reclaimed from a late Victorian period property in Cheshire, it is an absolute stunner. It has been stripped, cleaned, protective coated and polished to bring out its original character. This is a beautiful condition, authentic fireplace from the late 1890s, known as The Scotia. It is a real architectural beauty and carries original foundry marks. The fireplace is adorned with decorative flora and delicate ironwork. It is in fabulous restored condition.

The detail and quality can be seen in the pictures both inside and outside of the fire, which carries the name'Scotia' over the cast iron back plate. The fireplace is made of solid, very heavyweight, cast iron in excellent condition. It has discreetly positioned mounting lugs on the outside of the body for simple and safe installation. Complete with a beautiful original mantle shelf, original bars, and ash cover. During restoration we added a functioning damper.

The final look is outstanding. While this is a fully functional fireplace, we would recommend keeping it for decorative use if you wish to preserve its restored interior looks and lustre. This fireplace is ready to install and will add bags of authentic period character to your home. Fits nicely into an existing fireplace opening. Body width 89cm, widening to 95cm at lugs.

Opening 42cm wide x 60cm high. To accommodate this fireplace and it's rear section the hole in your chimney breast wall should be at least 58cm wide x 81cm high x 24cm deep.
