CAST IRON FIRE SURROUND FIREPLACE INSERT FRAME EDGE. For sale is this handy antique cast iron fire insert / plate, with fire front and ash pan cover. Classy and elegant with an attractive design, it can be used to reduce the size of opening on a larger fire surround or to tidy up the rough edges on an existing opening. Made by Stovax it would look beautiful over an open fireplace. It has been fully cleaned, given a protective coating for black grate polish which gives it a gunmetal appearance and highlights the ornamentation of the cast iron. Polished to show off its original character. Two screw holes at the top for easy attachment to the wall. Parts of this item have a rear projection of 2cm (please see photos).
