Antique Cast Iron Fireplace / Fire Surround / Insert / Victorian / Art Nouveau
For sale is this gently restored antique cast iron fireplace insert, reclaimed from a period property in Cheshire. It has been fully cleaned, heatproof treated and polished to bring out its original character. This is a lovely condition tiled fireplace insert carrying the foundry marks of the famous Falkirk foundry of Scotland. The beautiful detail and quality can be seen in the pictures.
The fireplace is made of solid, heavyweight cast iron in very good condition. During restoration we retained the original hood and hook-on cast iron bars. It also features its original tiles. They have survived well and have developed a lovely crackled effect over 120 years of life. One tile has been repaired (top left) which does not affect the overall aesthetic.

Fts neatly over an existing fireplace opening and will fit into most standard mantle surrounds or stand proud as it is. Width to outer edge of decorative frame 87cm. Height to top edge of decorative frame 89.5cm. To accommodate this fireplace insert flush against the wall, the opening in your chimney breast needs to be at least 88cm wide x 88cm high. A restored fireplace will bear well concealed signs of the restoration work and will have natural imperfections due to the nature of antique cast iron. For deliveries, we ensure all of our restored fireplaces are protective wrapped and delivered by our trusted courier, who takes great care with each item. The drivers will carry your fireplace into your home and place it in a location of your choice. If you are local to us, your item can be collected in person from our home workshop in Wilmslow, Cheshire (SK9 postcode). We will assist you where possible in loading.
